On July 29th Pete’s Golf celebrated its 40th anniversary with a tournament at Wheatley Hills Golf Club. Our family of customers and supporters came together for a day filled with fun, but more importantly, we raised a great deal of money for an important cause. To say it was a success is an understatement. We are truly grateful for everyone’s support!
Seven years ago, Woody Lashen’s wife Linda received a life-saving heart transplant. It was all made possible by an organ donor facilitated by LiveOnNY. Our main goal was to help raise funds so that other families could receive the same gift of life. We are proud to announce that we were able to raise $43,500. Everyone’s participation will directly save lives!
Woody Lashen recently gave a recap of the event with Anthony Scorcia on his radio show On Par – you can listen by clicking on the link below:
The event was also a celebration of Pete’s Golf being in business for four decades. Over the years, we have met some incredible people, and they all came out to show their support and have a good time. The day started with breakfast, and close to 100 golfers went out on the course to compete in a Stableford Tournament for a great set of prizes. It was a fun competition, and we had some impressive performances.
Local pro Matt Dobyns made an appearance – here’s a video of him hitting his new Titleist driving iron close to 300 yards!
Most importantly, there were tons of smiles, and we were able to finish in just over four hours. We had plenty of time for our cocktail hour, putting contest, and dinner. Our own Kirk Oguri provided some musical entertainment during the cocktail hour while the putting contest took place.
Here’s a video of the winning putt:
At dinner, we announced our winners who received some pretty generous prizes with the support of our partners. We also raised a ton of money with our silent auctions – our donors will get to play golf at some of the best courses in the NY Metro area. Lastly, there were some emotional tributes and stories about how Linda Lashen was able to be with us that night because of her heart transplant.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who helped make our 40th Anniversary Tournament a success. We feel lucky to have been in business for as long as we have, and it is only possible with the support of our customers. From the Pete’s Golf family, thank you!
